About Us
We are a newsletter company, and that is all we are.
India does not lack market commentary. What it lacks is writing you can read once and still be using six months later. Most of what gets published is either a headline number with an argument attached, or a tip dressed up as research.
Large companies are covered by everyone. The mid, small and micro caps that do most of the work in a portfolio are covered by almost nobody. And the macro picture that governs all of them usually gets flattened into a single sentence on the evening news.
So we publish both titles rather than one. Macro on its own stays abstract. Company research on its own misses the ground the business is standing on. Put together, they cover the same territory from opposite ends.
Our Publications
Our two titles, pointed in opposite directions.
The Macro Brew
Top down. It starts at the economy and works its way down through sectors and industries to the businesses inside them. This is the world around the business.
The Edge Alert
Bottom up. It starts with one company and works outward through its value chain to its industry and its market. This is the business inside that world.
How We Work
Six habits we try not to break.
Understanding, not instruction
Our job is to explain how something works, not to tell you what to buy. If a piece leaves you able to reason about it on your own, it did its job.
We show the work
The data, the sources, the reasoning, and the things that did not pan out. No black boxes and no conclusions you cannot check yourself.
History over prediction
We would rather explain what has happened before and why than forecast a number nobody can actually know.
Independent by design
Reader funded. No brokerage, no distribution arm, no products to push. The writing is the whole business.
We skip the daily noise
Very little that moves a market in a day still matters in a year. We write on the timescale that actually compounds.
Written to be read
Technical subjects in plain language. Being readable is not the same as being simplistic.
